Community advice

A thoughtful online advice community for adults.

Spill Sisters is where you can ask for perspective when a situation feels too personal, too complicated, or too close to home for your usual group chat.

Bring the context. Ask the real question. Leave the identifying details out.

Ask for the take you actually need

The clearest questions tend to receive the clearest Sister Takes. Tell readers:

  • What happened
  • What you are deciding
  • What outcome you want
  • What you have already said or tried
  • Which boundaries or constraints matter

Instead of What do you think?, try Would you address this directly, step back, or give it one more chance?

Find the right room

  • Dating Drama, red flags, situationships, breakups, mixed signals, and reality checks
  • Friendship Fallout, loyalty, drifting apart, group dynamics, copied behaviour, and bestie breakups
  • Family Tea, boundaries, relatives, holidays, caregiving, and private family tension
  • Workplace Drama, coworkers, bosses, interviews, office politics, and career decisions
  • Confessions, truths, secrets, and things you needed to say somewhere
  • Need Advice, a focused question before you make the next move
  • Updates / Part 2, what happened after the first Case File
  • General Tea, everything that does not fit neatly anywhere else

Give advice like a sister, not a jury

A good Sister Take can be honest without being cruel.

  • Respond to the situation that was shared; do not invent motives or a diagnosis.
  • Explain your reasoning instead of dropping an insult.
  • Ask for context without demanding private details.
  • Respect that the poster makes the final decision.
  • Do not pressure anyone to confront, expose, contact, or retaliate against a real person.
  • If a situation sounds dangerous, encourage real-world support without pretending the community can manage an emergency.

Strong opinions, clear limits

Disagreement is part of advice. Harassment is not. Hate, threats, stalking, doxxing, pile-ons, humiliation, and calls to target someone can lead to content removal or account restrictions, per the Community Guidelines.

Community advice reflects personal experience. It is not medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice. For urgent danger or a crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. See the Safety guide for more.
